When someone sits down and makes a serious decision to study the Bible, they are often overcome with confusion. I myself found this to be true a couple of years ago. It got to the point that I had given up on even trying. If God is not the author of confusion, then, I thought, obviously he could not have been the author of the Bible.
Due to the love of our God, he touched my heart again and I came back to give it another try. It has been a couple of years now and God has truly shown me the beauty that is in the Bible. It turns out that the confusion was not caused by God, but men who teach things contrary to his word.
Once I set aside my unbelief, and my pre-conceived notions based on what I thought the Bible should say, He began to teach me the truth. As I began this journey, the first thing I asked God for was that he would give me understanding of the relationship between the Father and the Son.
With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, after two years of studying, I have decided to show you some of the things that have been revealed to me. The Spirit has given me an understanding of many things; however, I do not claim to have all the answers. I am still on this wonderful journey and it is such a joy to see the simplicity in the word of God.
If you let the Holy Spirit guide you, you will find that the Bible truly comes to life for you. Reading becomes an addiction for you. You just can not wait for what the Spirit has in store for you. For me, there is nothing quite as exciting as finding something in the Old Testament that reveals and confirms something in the New Testament.
I know that these pages will be a blessing to anyone who approaches them seeking truth. They will also be a thorn in the side of all those who let pride stand in the path to truth. My prayer is that you will not take anything on this site as truth without prayer and searching the scriptures yourself. Above all, do not let man be your guide, let the Spirit within you be your guide.
Many people who study, stumble upon the truth, but because what is preached in many the churches does not agree, they feel like they are just not smart enough to understand. They believe that there is no way that the church could be wrong. After all, the pastor, priest, or minister has been studying a long time. Many of them went to colleges to study the Bible.
Remember that in Jesus’ time, the ministers of God’s word were the pharisee and Sadducee. These men studied the scriptures daily and were blind to the truth of who Jesus was. Just like many of the churches of today, they thought they knew the truth and no one was going to tell them otherwise. It was not the Bible that confused them, they were blinded by their own pride.
If you are confused and would like to learn more, please start by reading the article “Sharpening the Sword“, then read our statement of beliefs which are all based on concrete scriptures that can not be interpreted to say anything other than what they say.
